Symbolism:

There is a persistent belief in alchemical and hermetic tradition in the existence of two suns: a hidden one of pure "philosophical gold," consisting of the essential fire conjoined with aether, and the apparent one of profane material gold." The "dark, consuming fire" of the material sun conjoined with the common metal leads to its being called the "Dark" or "Black Sun".

Synchronicity:

The experience of two or more events as meaningfully related, where they are unlikely to be causally related. The subject sees it as a meaningful coincidence.

Motion Picture Symbolism Log 001: Southland Tales

December 7, 2007, Release of Southland Tales

Southland Tales is an ensemble piece set in the futuristic landscape of Los Angeles on July 4, 2008, as it stands on the brink of social, economic and environmental disaster. Boxer Santaros is an action star who's stricken with amnesia. His life intertwines with Krysta Now, an adult film star developing her own reality television project, and Ronald Taverner, a Hermosa Beach police officer who holds the key to a vast conspiracy.

The Apocalypse (Revealing) begins when the Zeppelin is shot down.

The Ron Paul Blimp was an aerial billboard launched in December 2007 with considerable publicity. It was emblazoned on one side with "Who is Ron Paul? Google Ron Paul" and, on the other, "Ron Paul Revolution." At 200 feet (61 m) long, the blimp was longer than the Goodyear Blimp. With a stated cost of $400,000 per month, supporters raised enough money to keep the blimp afloat for about six weeks. (Wiki)
